Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Chatham, VA | $30–$38/hr | Full-Time

If you know how to keep dozers, excavators, articulated trucks and other heavy iron moving, this is a field mechanic job worth a look.

You’ll spend most of your time in the field , rolling in a company service truck that goes home with you. Diagnose the problem, turn the wrenches, get the machine back up and running. When the weather turns bad, you’ll spend more time in the shop.

What the job looks like:

• 80% field / 20% shop
• Monday–Friday, typically 7 AM–5 PM
• Around 50 hours/week
• Company service truck — no CDL required
• Laptop, diagnostic software and smartphone provided
• Specialty tools provided, including everything 3/4" and up
• Company replaces provided tools that wear out or break

You’ll be working on a fleet of 130+ pieces of earthmoving equipment and 300+ total vehicles/equipment , handling troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance and parts needs.

What we’re looking for:

• 3–5+ years of heavy equipment mechanic experience
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with construction/earthmoving equipment
• Comfortable working independently in the field
• Own basic hand tools

Pay & benefits:

• $30–$38/hr , depending on experience
