Radiologic Technologist

Overview St. Vincent's Medical Center, part of St. Vincent's Health Services in Bridgeport, is seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our Healthcare & Medical industry setting. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered diagnostic imaging services in collaboration with our multidisciplinary care teams, including nursing and providers across cardiology, cancer, orthopedics, and other specialties. In this position, you will perform a full range of routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic examinations, including digital radiography, fluoroscopy, and mobile imaging, following established departmental protocols and physician orders. You will verify patient identity, review medical history and prior imaging when appropriate, explain procedures in clear and compassionate terms, and position patients safely and accurately to obtain optimal images while minimizing discomfort. Using modern imaging equipment and PACS, you will select appropriate technical factors, ensure proper radiation protection for patients, staff, and yourself in accordance with ALARA principles, and consistently produce high‑quality images for interpretation by radiologists and physicians. Responsibilities Preparing rooms and equipment. Performing quality control checks. Maintaining cleanliness and readiness of imaging areas. Promptly reporting any equipment issues or safety concerns. Adhering to all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital policies, including infection prevention, patient privacy, and documentation standards, accurately entering exam and patient information into the electronic medical record and imaging systems. Communicating effectively with nurses, radiologists, surgeons, and other clinical staff to coordinate imaging around patient care needs. Assisting with urgent and emergent cases in the emergency department, operating room, and inpatient units, and helping prioritize workflow to support timely diagnosis and treatment. Providing age‑appropriate care to diverse patient populations, including those with limited mobility, acute illness, or anxiety.
