Neuro-Oncologist (F76380) - School of Medicine, Neurosurgery

Overview

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine’s Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a full‑time Neuro‑Oncologist to contribute to its mission of improving health through patient care, education, and research.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: Provide direct patient care for neuro‑oncology patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Teaching: Instruct medical students, housestaff, and residents; lead formal conferences; attend weekly Grand Rounds; lecture upon request.
• Research: Engage in clinical and translational research projects; participate in, and when appropriate, lead, clinical trials.
• Service: Serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and/or university committees; fulfill professional roles such as reviewer or conference organizer.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of a neurology residency and neuro‑oncology fellowship at accredited institutions.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia.
• Board certification or board‑eligible in Neurology (ABPN) and Neuro‑Oncology (UCNS).
• Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, respectful environment for faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.
