Security Officer

Monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors. Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise. To be successful in this role, you'll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner. Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Patrolling assigned areas, on foot or by vehicle, providing service and protection.
• Investigating suspicious person(s) or activity, responding to crimes in progress, crimes that have occurred, disturbances, accidents, various public service calls, and other miscellaneous incidents.
• Investigating complaints, criminal incidents, suspicious activity and accidents. Preparing detailed written incident reports.
• When assigned to dispatch, effectively monitoring electronic surveillance equipment to identify any suspicious person(s) or activity and dispatching appropriate personnel to investigate; Operating base radio station by dispatching appropriate personnel to emergency situations and/or requests for assistance by monitoring all radio traffic, responsible for answering multiple telephone lines in response to routine and emergency inquiries and dispatching appropriate personnel in regards to those inquiries; Maintaining appropriate logs of daily radio communications received from shift personnel and requests received via telephone; tabulating data from logs to produce required activity reports.
• Providing general information and assistance to patients, visitors and employees, including safety related escorts as requested, to various campus locations.
• Collaborating with various department personnel and external agencies to gather and exchange information; promoting departmental services provided to the campus.

Job requirements include:

• High School Graduate General Studies and six (6) months experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, upon hire or
• High School GED General Studies and six (6) months experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, upon hire or
• Prior law enforcement or military experience and
• Driver's License: AR, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 days

Preferred:

• One year experience as a security officer
