Accounts Receivable Accountant

Location: Vero Beach, FL Schedule: Hybrid Employment Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $75,000–$80,000 annually

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our accounting team in a key role supporting the company's receivables and broader accounting operations. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day AR activities, ensuring accurate and timely cash application, account reconciliations, customer account maintenance, and month-end close support.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Coupa and/or Ariba is highly desirable, particularly for candidates who have worked in environments with complex purchasing, invoicing, and vendor/customer processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate customer accounts and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
• Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balances and discrepancies.
• Research and resolve customer payment issues, short pays, deductions, and account discrepancies.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities, including AR reporting and reconciliations.
• Review transactions for accuracy and ensure proper application of payments.
• Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Sales, Procurement, and customers to resolve issues.
• Assist with improving AR processes, reporting, and internal controls.
• Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed.
• Utilize ERP and financial systems to maintain accurate accounting records.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3–7+ years of accounting experience with a strong emphasis on Accounts Receivable.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with high-volume AR transactions and customer account management.
• Coupa experience strongly preferred.
• Ariba experience is a major plus.
• Experience with an ERP/accounting system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external customers.
• Comfortable working independently while also collaborating across departments.
