Description:

Under the direction of the Radiation Oncology Manager, the Radiation Therapist participates in tumor localization, treatment planning, and delivery of high doses of ionizing radiation treatment to patients according to prescription and instructions from Radiation Oncologists. The Radiation Therapist displays and practices a work-style that reflects the mission, vision, and values of the department and organization. Participation in the continuous quality improvement process is expected. A working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance, is required. Proficiency in CT simulation techniques is essential. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Radiation Oncology EMR, are necessary. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, provide practical solutions, and negotiate resolutions, are important for this role. Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills are essential for working effectively with others in the department.
