Job Title: Grinder – 1st and 2nd shift Job Description This role operates grinding, polishing, and related equipment to produce high-quality metal workpieces to precise specifications. You inspect machinery and parts, perform basic maintenance and repairs, and ensure consistent product quality in a modern, climate-controlled manufacturing environment on a 1st shift schedule. Responsibilities Inspect machinery and workpieces regularly to ensure they comply with specifications and to reduce malfunctions and production loss. Monitor grinding operations and ensure grinding wheels are dressed according to specifications so machines operate at peak capability. Stop machines immediately when you discover a problem and make required adjustments as quickly as possible to minimize downtime. Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces as they come out of the equipment and removing any defective pieces. Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind metal workpieces to prescribed specifications and ensure high-quality products. Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure all surfaces are properly filed, deburred, and finished. Use air tools and other pneumatic equipment to perform grinding, deburring, and related fabrication tasks. Perform basic equipment maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, and cleaning, to keep all equipment running safely and efficiently. Perform basic repairs within the scope of expected knowledge, including replacing worn or broken parts, and schedule more extensive repairs when needed. Support general fabrication and assembly tasks as needed, using hand and power tools to meet production requirements. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that is fully climate controlled, providing a clean, comfortable, and modern work setting. You will work primarily with grinding, polishing, deburring, and fabrication equipment, including air tools, pneumatic tools, and a variety of hand and power tools. The standard schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Thursday, working four 10-hour days, with flexible start times at 4:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., or 6:00 a.m. Overtime on Fridays is minimal and voluntary, offering additional flexibility. The facility is designed for efficient, safe operations, with a focus on maintaining equipment through regular inspection, lubrication, cleaning, and timely repairs. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Sun Prairie, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41000.00 - $70000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
