Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Northern New York

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Northern New York

Schedule: 12-hour shifts; Every other weekend; Day shift ratio 1:5, Night shift ratio 1:6; Average daily census of 23 patients; 16 hours of orientation provided

Highlights:

• Work in a Certified Stroke Center with a diverse patient population including cardiac, respiratory, stroke, infectious disease, and pre/post-operative patients
• PCU or Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience accepted; PCU-trained candidates preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Float opportunities to sister units (West 2, West 3, and Observation unit)
• 30-bed unit with 17 patient rooms and comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology
• First-time travelers welcome with a minimum of 1 year of experience

Requirements:

• Active New York RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in PCU or Medical-Surgical Telemetry setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility location
• Skills required: IV management, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, PCA pumps, chest tube management, PICC line care, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and stroke patient care
• Willingness to float to sister units as needed
• Completion of pre-start modules (up to 10 hours)
