We are currently seeking a Training and Development Specialist. This position is a full-time opportunity located in the greater Washington DC and surrounding area. Battelle's Infrastructure Safety and Security (ISS) business is pursuing a high-profile support program for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. The scope of this program includes a full spectrum of research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) support. As we prepare for this opportunity, we are actively recruiting highly qualified candidates for anticipated roles. The Training and Development Specialist will assist the Senior Instructor in developing course curriculum and administering courses and workshops related to DHS T&E standards and guidelines. This role works closely with DHS to implement curriculum updates and ensure training content remains current, accurate, and aligned with DHS policy. As a Training and Development Specialist, the selected individual will support DHS T&E training programs through curriculum development, course administration, and instructional support. Responsibilities may include:Assisting the Senior Instructor in developing, updating, and administering course curriculum and workshops related to DHS T&E standards and guidelinesCollaborating with DHS stakeholders to implement curriculum updates and ensure all training content aligns with current DHS directives and T&E policySupporting the design and delivery of interactive web-based and classroom training materials using adult learning principles and instructional design best practicesSupporting program planning and oversight activities, including exercise development, execution, and evaluationAssisting with system-level analysis and system integration support, including assessment of threats and vulnerabilities as they relate to training program contentSupporting technical assessment and evaluation activities to complement government technical experts in applying acquisition efforts and RDT&E toward the DHS missionCommunicating effectively with diverse stakeholders in both written and verbal formats, including senior government personnelAdvanced degree or equivalent credits/certifications with 5+ years of experience in training and instructional designDHS T&E Level 3 certification, DAU T&E Practitioner (Level 2/3) certification, and/or CTEP (Certified Test and Evaluation Professional) certificationBackground in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologiesProficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and WordProven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with diverse stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independentlyAbility to work onsite in Washington, DC with flexibility to regularly visit customer locations in Virginia and DC.Secret level clearance with ability to obtain DHS SuitabilityPrior experience supporting DHS programsActive DHS SuitabilityExperience providing assistance with program planning and oversight, exercise development and execution, and program evaluationExperience with system-level analysis, system integration support, and understanding of threats and vulnerabilitiesExperience with technical assessment and evaluation to support government technical experts in applying acquisition efforts and RDT&E toward accomplishing the DHS missionBattelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $79,700 - $113,500 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
