Line Cook

Stissing House in Pine Plains is excited to be serving the greater Hudson Valley community and is looking for a few new Cooks to join its growing culinary team.

Founded in 1782, Stissing House is one of the oldest operating taverns in the United States, and now, after an extensive renovation, Chef Clare de Boer and her team are honored to continue this tradition.

Our team at Stissing House is currently seeking Line Cooks with a love for wood fired cooking.

Position Summary

Stissing House features an open kitchen where locally sourced ingredients are cooked over live fire in our wood-stoked oven and grill.

Skills

• Works well in a team oriented environment with good communication, supporting other team members as needed.

• Ability to work in a fast paced kitchen environment attention to detail.

• Prioritizes and plans work effectively and efficiently.

• Observes and implements all safety and security procedures.

• Follows kitchen protocols.

• Willingness to learn and improve from service to service.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, holiday and nights.
• Wood fired oven experience is a plus
