Clearance

• Security clearance: NO
• Facility clearance (FCL): NO
• Base access: YES. Background check and a Fort Jackson base pass are required before the first day. This takes about 3 weeks.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS MANDATORY

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of office or admin work.
• Able to learn new database systems quickly.
• Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Provided after hire: Army security awareness, anti-terrorism Level I, iWATCH, OPSEC and TARP.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS NICE TO HAVE

• Associate or bachelor degree in HR, business or a related subject.
• Army HR background (42A) or similar military HR training.
• Current Fort Jackson base pass.
• Army security awareness, anti-terrorism Level I, iWATCH, OPSEC and TARP training completed in the last 12 months.

WORK EXPERIENCE MANDATORY

• 5 or more years of Army or military HR admin work.
• Hands-on use of IPPS-A and iPERMS.
• At least 2 years leading a team: assigning work, changing priorities during the day, and answering for the quality of the work.
• Daily contact with a government customer.
• Army records filing and orders.
• Writing or running a quality plan: sampling work, finding the cause of an error, and fixing it.
• Military pay systems: DJMS, DMO, MMPA, CEDEMS, SmartVoucher, DTS. Enough to cover any one of them for a week.

WORK EXPERIENCE NICE TO HAVE

• Former Army 36B Financial Management Technician or 42A HR Specialist.
• Booking Army school seats and matching them to travel and orders.
• Help desk work with a ticket system.
• Supporting people who are based away from the office.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Run the work and answer for it.
• Meet the Army customer face to face every day between 0900 and 1500.
• Hold a 15 minute team stand-up at 0745 and assign the day's work by deadline.
• Write and run the quality plan: sample the team's work, find the cause of any error, and fix it.
• Check and approve all 6 reports before they go to the Army, from the management plan due 15 days after award to the monthly status report due by the 10th of each month.
• Do about 126 hours a month of hands-on HR work and cover any team member who is away.
• Tell head office within 4 hours if anything puts a performance target at risk.
• Track base passes, computer access and training dates for the team and renew them before they expire.
• Confirm in writing to the Army on day 30 that the team is trained, cleared and working independently.
• Protect soldiers' personal information. No personal phone, laptop or USB stick on an Army computer.
