Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Program Director is responsible for supporting YMCA operations through effective delivery of programs, services, and member engagement. This position contributes to the achievement of Association goals by promoting the YMCA mission, values, and strategic priorities while providing high-quality service to members, participants, staff, and the community. Essential Functions The essential functions listed below are representative of the duties and responsibilities performed by this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list. Lead all aspects of the program experience, ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and service-driven environment for all members. Conduct ongoing assessments of program outcomes, satisfaction, and participation trends. Support fundraising efforts including the annual campaign, donor relations, and special events to support branch’s programs and services. All other duties as assigned by management. Core Responsibilities Perform duties in alignment with YMCA mission, policies, procedures, and operational standards. Deliver high-quality customer/member service to participants, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Support departmental and Association goals through effective communication, teamwork, and accountability. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and required professional development activities. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Support risk management and safety procedures. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of YMCA experience or in a customer service field. Proven experience in managing people, programs, and budgets. Excellent human relation skills and an ability to maintain positive communication with staff and members Commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA Proven ability to build genuine relationships Results‑driven mindset with the ability to analyze data and adjust strategies Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills. Work Environment & Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. Operating office equipment and technology. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to work in indoor and/or outdoor environments. Ability to travel between branch locations, if applicable. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment noise level is typically moderate.
