Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am-6pm Work Calendar: 12 Months This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 06/30/2027 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD. Job Summary The Project Manager coordinates and advances strategic and operational projects across the Division of Community Development. The division serves learners through noncredit programs such as high school equivalency preparation, English language acquisition, career training, and other community-driven classes designed to expand access to education and economic opportunity. A central goal of the division is to support learners in transitioning to college certificate and degree programs and to careers that lead to family‑sustaining wages. This position manages a diverse portfolio of initiatives for the division, including technology projects, signature student events, noncredit‑to‑credit partnerships, professional development, grant coordination, 4DX, and other division and college priorities. The Project Manager develops and maintains project plans, dashboards, timelines, and reports; facilitates communication and coordination among internal and external stakeholders; and provides regular updates to division leadership to support effective implementation, accountability, and continuous progress on division priorities. Essential Functions 30% – Coordinate division-wide project planning and execution: develop and maintain project scope, objectives, workplans, timelines, milestones, and implementation schedules for assigned projects; coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives and monitor progress. 25% – Maintain dashboards, documentation, and leadership reporting: create and maintain project dashboards, status reports, timelines, meeting materials, and related documentation; track progress and provide regular updates to division leadership and other stakeholders. 20% – Facilitate stakeholder coordination and cross‑functional communication: coordinate communication, meetings, and follow‑up across internal and external stakeholders; support alignment of roles, timelines, expectations, and deliverables across projects and initiatives. 15% – Support special initiatives, events, and grant‑related coordination: provide project management support for signature student events, division professional learning events, noncredit‑to‑credit partnerships, grant reporting, grant application coordination, 4DX goal activities, and other strategic initiatives assigned by leadership. 10% – Monitor project budgets, issues, and operational follow‑through: assist with tracking project‑related budgets, expenditures, risks, issues, and operational needs; support problem‑solving, follow‑up, and completion of administrative processes related to assigned projects; perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, or public administration and two years of experience providing journey‑level project management coordination and assistance, including preparing reports, maintaining records, tracking budgets, performing research, and assisting with project communication. OR an equivalent combination of the degree and directly related full‑time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Desired Qualifications A. Three or more years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects with cross‑functional stakeholders in higher education, workforce development, public sector, nonprofit, or another similarly complex environment. B. Experience developing and maintaining project plans, dashboards, reports, timelines, meeting materials, and executive‑level updates. C. Experience planning and coordinating large‑scale events, professional development, or other multi‑team initiatives with complex timelines and logistics. D. Experience supporting projects that involve grant reporting, grant proposal coordination, compliance tracking, or related externally funded work. E. Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives by building strong partnerships, aligning stakeholders, and managing multiple priorities without formal supervisory authority. F. Project or process management certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum, or comparable industry‑recognized credentials. G. One year of full‑time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years. Special Working Conditions Assigned work location is Rio Salado College Tempe: 2323 W 14th St, Tempe, AZ 85281. Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate’s own expense. May require some evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
