Traveling Project Executive - MEP

***This is a Traveling MEP PX role. We’re looking for people willing to consider travel assignments at our Data Centers throughout the South region. We will pay a monthly travel stipend for this position. The salary range for this position is estimated to be $140,000.00 - $200,000.00 annualized, which represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Description Lead, manage, and coordinate all phases of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) work on one or more construction projects of significant complexity and scale from preconstruction through to closeout. Oversee project team, risk, and operations to ensure success. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities Develop operational plans for coordinating and implementing all phases of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) work for one or concurrent construction projects of significant complexity and scale from preconstruction through closeout. Lead multiple MEP disciplines through the preconstruction process and facilitate project launch to convey strategic MEP system design and operations considerations. Partner, champion, support and validate opportunities to collaborate with other Turner entities and resources to optimize project operations and increase service offerings and capabilities. Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and alignment of project teams to support project goals and priorities. Engage with project team regularly on site to maintain continuity with project activities throughout all phases, set expectations and clearly define roles and responsibilities, serve as a resource to help resolve project matters, and guide teams to implement company initiatives and adopt technologies. Guide project teams and stakeholders to adopt Turner business ethics and compliance programs. Know and understand project contract obligations (e.g., notice provisions, right to stop work) and manage expectations and uphold obligations with project team and stakeholders throughout the life of the project. Provide leadership for risk evaluations, contract negotiations, fees and pricing decisions. Develop and maintain long‑lasting relationships with clients, design community, trades/subcontractors, and organizations to enhance future business development opportunities. Provide leadership to develop high‑performing teams, foster a supportive environment of diversity and inclusion, and promote the Active Caring philosophy with teams, trades/subcontractors, and clients to demonstrate the highest standards of care for each other. Serve as a subject‑matter expert to guide and support development of specialty MEP construction expertise and knowledge across projects. Follow employee developmental progress throughout project assignments to promote training and education to enhance career development. Provide overall MEP team leadership, supervise managers across disciplines, deliver timely performance feedback for direct reports, contribute to performance appraisals during the annual performance cycle, utilize talent management systems, and identify appropriate training to help with development needs. Collaborate with Operations Managers and/or Construction Executive to manage workforce planning for staff capacity in support of specific project demands, and review plans with project, Resource Officer, and Human Resources leadership teams. Ensure Turner's most current standard practices for operational excellence are in place and hold the entire MEP team accountable to adopt and adhere to standards, including Safety, Project Launch, Production Control System, Scheduling, Engineering, Commissioning, and Quality. Oversee development of a master project schedule for MEP components and manage its implementation. Develop, with the Construction Executive, a Master Production Plan schedule and oversee detailed production planning with Turner staff and subcontractors in accordance with the schedule. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of 15 years of related Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing (MEP) and/or Special Systems experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules. Broad scope and significant complexity of construction project experience with progressive responsibility for MEP at increasing scale. Well‑rounded construction experience in both project and office positions, including Preconstruction, Procurement, Engineering, Superintendent, Scheduling, and supervisory responsibilities. Advanced knowledge of MEP innovation, trends, and key technical relationships. Extensive knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices. Advanced knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, engineering principles and techniques, and risk management. Demonstrate elements of emotional intelligence, including self‑awareness, social awareness, self‑management, and relationship management. In‑depth critical thinking and analytical skills to address and resolve complex problems. Adept to lead and manage through ambiguity and changing environments and demands. Leadership skills and management experience; ability to mentor, guide, develop teams, delegate work, observe performance, and deliver feedback. Executive presence and presentation delivery skills with effective negotiation skills. Ability to lead confidential discussions, influence leadership decision‑making, determine direction, and prioritize responsibilities. Experience implementing continuous improvement concepts, methodology, and tools.
