Norpin Manufacturing Co., Inc. is seeking a mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Wilbraham, MA. The Machine Operator will set up, run, and maintain machinery used in operations. The ideal candidate must be adept at interpreting engineering blueprints, applying strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment, and holding precise tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Blueprint & Technical Reading: Read and interpret blueprints and job travelers to determine part specifications and operational sequences.
• Machine Operation & Setup: Set up and safely operate metalworking machinery—such as deep draw presses, metal stamping equipment, punch presses, and CNC machinery—to fabricate custom metal enclosures and components.
• Mechanical Adjustments & Maintenance: Perform routine mechanical adjustments, tool/die changeovers, and preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure continuous, efficient operation.
• Quality & Measurement: Inspect in-process and finished parts against blueprint dimensions using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators).
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose basic mechanical issues, machine jams, or dimensional discrepancies during production and make quick, effective corrections.
• Safety & Workplace Standards: Follow all company safety protocols, wear required PPE, and keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Blueprint Proficiency: Proven ability to accurately read and work directly from technical blueprints & engineering drawings.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
• Experience: 1–3+ years of machine operation experience in a metal fabrication, stamping, deep drawing, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Technical & Math Skills: Solid basic shop math skills (fractions, decimals, geometric tolerances).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move materials up to 50 lbs, and work comfortably in a light industrial plant setting.
