Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

RN Ambulatory/Outpatient PACU

Schedule

8-hour shifts only, with possible schedules of 4x8 or 5x8. Shift times are mixed between 06:0014:30 and 07:3016:00. Weekends and call are not required.

Assignment Details

Contract assignment is expected to end on 11/25/2026, with an average daily patient census of 40 patients across 9 rooms/beds.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience required.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Ambulatory/outpatient PACU experience is needed.
• Ability to start and maintain IVs.
• Experience with pre/post-operative care including discharge instructions and medication reconciliation.
• Preferred experience in Pediatric PACU, Phase I/II recovery, and ENT/Ophthalmology cases.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from outpatient procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status throughout recovery.
• Administer medications and manage pain effectively.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during recovery.
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Prepare patients for discharge after stable recovery metrics are met.

Compliance / Notes

Flu vaccine is required with medical/religious exemptions considered. Up to 7 days of request time off can be auto-approved; no request time off is allowed during the first week. Additional request time off may result in cancellation or no-show, so it must be pre-approved.
