Position Overview

Jones Welding & Industrial Supplies is seeking a dependable, customer-focused  CDL Class B Delivery Driver / Inside Sales Associate to join our Fayetteville, GA team.

This is a dual-role position combining local deliveries with inside sales, showroom operations, and customer service. The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys working with customers, is comfortable in a hands-on environment, and is willing to assist wherever needed to keep daily operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Transportation

• Safely operate company delivery vehicles to transport industrial gases, welding supplies, equipment, and other products to customers.

• Load, secure, transport, and unload products safely and efficiently.

• Complete local delivery routes while providing professional customer service.

• Maintain accurate delivery records and required DOT documentation.

• Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety procedures, including applicable hazardous materials regulations.

Inside Sales & Customer Service

• Assist walk-in customers with welding supplies, industrial gases, equipment, and related products.

• Process sales transactions, customer orders, and payments.

• Answer customer questions and help identify appropriate products and solutions.

• Assist with telephone inquiries, product availability, and order fulfillment.

• Maintain positive relationships with customers through knowledgeable, friendly service.

Showroom & Warehouse Operations

• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain a clean, professional showroom.

• Assist with receiving shipments, inventory organization, and order preparation.

• Load and unload customer vehicles and delivery trucks.

• Handle and organize gas cylinders in accordance with company safety procedures.

• Assist with general warehouse duties and daily store operations.

• Work alongside store management and team members to ensure customers receive prompt, reliable service.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.

• HazMat endorsement required for assigned deliveries involving regulated hazardous materials; candidates able to obtain the endorsement may be considered.

• Ability to meet applicable DOT driver qualification and medical certification requirements.

• Acceptable driving record.

• Experience in delivery, inside sales, customer service, or warehouse operations preferred.

• Knowledge of welding equipment, industrial gases, and related supplies is a plus, but training may be provided.

• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

• Ability to lift and move heavy products safely, including handling industrial gas cylinders using appropriate equipment and procedures.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Dependable, punctual, and willing to assist in multiple areas of store operations.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. No weekends.
Budgeted Hours: 40 hours per week
Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Hours per Day: 8 hours (with a 1-hour unpaid lunch)
Potential Overtime: 2–5 hours per week, as needed
Expected Weekly Hours: 40–45 hours
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)
