Help us help others: This positionrequires an exceptional person who possesses the desire to serve adolescents in asmall, short-term residential setting. Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Children Services, the Director of the Youth Crisis Respite Center works to ensure appropriate behavioral health services are provided to adolescents admitted to the Youth Crisis Respite Center. The person in thisposition is responsible for continued program development, daily operations, staff oversight, clinical direction, clinical programming implementation, and communitycollaboration and partnerships. The Director of the Youth Crisis Respite Center exercises extensive independent judgment and will seek clinical and medical consultation as required. This position requires flexibility in schedule, sometravel, and availability for after-hours clinicals/ administrative consultation. The Director will be on call to staff all potential Youth Crisis Respite Admissions and staff any behavioral or clinical issues that arise in the homewith community professionals, mental health associates, youth, and families.at times requiring them to report to the home directly to assess and respond. You will get to: Leadership: Cultivate existing relationships with partners with the goal of ensuring sufficientspace, resources, and access toservices. Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas. Develop strategies for integration into currently existing systems and align withfuture goals Interfaces with referral sources, providing information and status reports as required by referringagencies/programs. Represent HCMHDDC Youth Crisis Respite program in learning opportunities as needed Willingness to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. Team Managementand Development: Provide professional leadership in organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating effective delivery of the Youth Crisis Respite program. Develop and implement a system to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff. Develop new, innovative, Youth Crisis Respite operated services for individuals, to support person-centered recovery goals. Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling oversight of individual and organizational program performance standards and expectations. Monitors results of services and reviews cases for further evaluation, for continuous quality improvement (CQI). Recruit, hire, and oversee the training and orientation of all program staff. Develop an atmosphere of respect, interest, and enthusiasm in the services provided. Recognize and encourage outstanding performance by persons within the program. Inform the proper authority when attendance issues are present or non-compliance is evidenced. ProgramOperational Management: Establish consistent, objective program performance standards of accountability for program content and delivery standards. Attends and participates in weekly/monthly staff meetings as required. Maintains data tracking systems in an organized manner to comply with reporting and auditing requests in atimely fashion. Attends required state Respite Calls to ensure adherence to standards and is knowledgeable of any updates related to programming. Facilitate and co-facilitate outreach and educational presentations, as required to expand and sustain the program in the community. Prepare and review professional reports. Supervise the development and administration of the annual Youth Crisis Respite services budget. Maintain an acknowledge of metric goals and general contract developments. Work Behaviors: Plans, develops, and implements respite programming per authority guidelines and/or grant guidelines. Collaborates with intra- and inter-agency staff to ensure continuity of care for youth in services. Conducts community outreach to ensure the continued development and success of the program. Provides clinical oversight (with consultation if needed) and decision-making for the respite program. Performs Data Collection and Analysis to plan for and make projections for current and future programming. Responsible for all business, administrative, and clinical functions (with consultation) within the respite house. Provides supervision of personnel. Utilization of the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual to make appropriate diagnostic determinations with consultation of a Licensed Professional Counselor of the Healing Arts. Submits all requisite paperwork to include timesheets, travel logs, service reports, purchase orders, and other required or requested documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures all policies associated with the program are current and reflect best practices and programmatic operations. Develops appropriate forms for the program as needed. Maintains comprehensive documentation that meets or exceeds HHSC and CMS standards. Utilizes Collaborative Documentation, and 95% of all documentation is entered within 24 hours. Develop discharges plans, track referrals, and provide follow-up on individuals who are released from the program. Comply with HIPAA and PHI to ensure confidentiality of all client information. Comply with all HCMHDDC policies and procedures. Ensures timely communication within the department and with other departments and agencies via written correspondence, email, telephones, and other means to ensure project follow-through and completion. Work closely with the Human Resources team to provide the highest quality work environment and staff support possible. You'll definitely need: Preferred: Master's degree in human services meets educational requirements for LPHA. LPHA Licensure is preferred; a provisional license or active process of completing a graduate degree to pursue provisional licensure is required. Required: Bachelor's degrees in human services meet educational requirements for LPHA. Current Texas Driver's License and auto insurance We'll also want you to: Performs other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals and objectives Must become certified in PMAB, First Aid, and CPR within three months of employment and maintain certification without interruption thereafter.
