Operations / Project Manager - Structural Steel Erection Commercial & Industrial Projects | Leadership Opportunity An established and growing Structural Steel Construction contractor specializing in commercial and industrial steel erection is seeking an Operations / Project Manager to lead projects, people, and processes from award through closeout. This opportunity is ideal for a driven leader with a background in either structural steel or general contracting who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving problems, developing teams, and improving operations. We are seeking someone with a true growth mindset who wants to make an immediate impact and help scale the business. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple structural steel projects from contract award through closeout Oversee scheduling, manpower planning, equipment, logistics, and execution Partner with superintendents, foremen, and field crews to drive safety, production, and accountability Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders Track project budgets, labor productivity, equipment usage, and overall profitability Lead client meetings and maintain strong relationships with owners, GCs, engineers, and vendors Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements Support hiring, team development, and long-term growth initiatives Coordinate subcontractors, procurement, and project resources Qualifications 5+ years of project management, operations, or construction leadership experience Background in structural steel erection , or commercial general contracting Strong understanding of field operations, scheduling, manpower planning, and cost control Ability to read structural drawings, contracts, and specifications Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software Preferred Experience with commercial, industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or heavy industrial projects Experience leading superintendents, field crews, or project teams Exposure to crane picks, rigging, erection sequencing, or complex steel installations Experience helping scale processes or improve operational performance Compensation & Benefits $100,000 - $140,000 DOE + Performance Bonus Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) PTO + Paid Holidays Clear leadership and advancement opportunities If you're an operational leader who understands construction, develops people, and wants to help grow a respected steel contractor, we want to hear from you.
