Dean of Students

Summary Sebree Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Dean of Students. This full-time position is designed for an educational leader who is committed to fostering a positive school environment, supporting student success, and enhancing the overall educational experience. The Dean of Students will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and families to promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and academic excellence. Responsibilities Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote student engagement, character development, and a positive school climate. Serve as a key resource for students, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs through counseling and support services. Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and enforce school policies and procedures related to student behavior and discipline. Monitor student attendance and performance, identifying at-risk students and implementing intervention strategies as needed. Facilitate communication between students, parents, and educators to ensure a supportive and inclusive school environment. Organize and oversee extracurricular activities, clubs, and events that enhance student involvement and community engagement. Conduct regular meetings with faculty to discuss student progress, behavioral issues, and strategies for improvement. Mediates conflicts among students and provide conflict resolution strategies to promote a peaceful school environment. Maintain accurate records of student behavior, disciplinary actions, and interventions, ensuring compliance with school and district policies. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends in student affairs. Requirements Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Valid teaching certification and administrative credential preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in an educational setting, with a focus on student services or administration. Strong understanding of child development, student behavior, and effective discipline strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational practices.
