Certified Veterinary Technician - Emergency

BluePearl Pet Hospitals (Glendale, WI) — Veterinary Technician (Emergency Department) Sign‑On Bonus: Eligible for up to $5,000 for qualified candidates. Work Schedule: Full‑Time. Pay Range: $21.00 – $39.75 per hour. Pay depends on local licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Responsibilities Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases upon arrival, obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning. Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Calculate medical math (including constant‑rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations. Proficient in phlebotomy and placement of intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Mentor and train co‑workers, fostering a collaborative team. Show patience and empathy to address client concerns. Perform additional tasks as needed based on department coverage.
