Job Summary

This position involves examining title opinions and curative documents, preparing and maintaining division orders, managing the full lifecycle of division order-related records, tracking revenue-related obligations and payment timing, and serving as the primary point of contact for landowner and mineral owner inquiries. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of division order and/or title experience in upstream oil and gas, is comfortable working independently on moderately complex title and ownership issues, and has a solid understanding of the Marcellus/Utica region.

Key Responsibilities

•        In-House Title Review : Examine title opinions, abstracts, and curative documents to independently assess ownership positions, identify defects, and determine curative requirements. Coordinate directly with outside landmen on complex title issues.

•        Division Order Preparation & Interest Calculations : Prepare division orders and calculate working interest and net revenue interest decimals for new wells, curative changes, and ownership revisions, ensuring calculations reconcile to 100% and comply with company standards.

•        Ownership Change Processing : Process and document ownership changes arising from assignments, probates, heirship, trusts, and corporate name changes. Maintain a clear, well-supported chain of title for each ownership adjustment.

•        Division Order Document Management : Own the full lifecycle of division order and title-related records, including title opinions, curative documents, assignments, and probate/heirship files. Scan, index, and file records in company systems (e.g., Quorum, P2 Land), ensuring documentation is complete, audit-ready, and properly cross-referenced to support ownership decisions.

•        Revenue Obligations & Payment Tracking : Track revenue-related obligations and payment timing, including suspense accounts, unclaimed property/escheatment deadlines, and outstanding curative items holding up payment. Coordinate with accounting to resolve payment discrepancies and minimize owner suspense.

•        Landowner & Mineral Owner Communication : Serve as a primary point of contact for landowners and mineral owners on ownership, division order, and payment matters. Respond to inbound owner inquiries and calls with clear, professional communication, and proactively reach out to owners to resolve outstanding ownership or documentation issues.

•        Cross-Functional Coordination : Partner with landmen, land administration, accounting, and outside counsel to ensure ownership and revenue records stay accurate and current across all company systems.
