RN Clinical Educator

Under the direction of the department manager,the Clinical Educatoris responsible forassessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating an organized program across the footprint, for staff orientation and ongoing continuing education, directed toward the achievement of professional excellence and regulatory compliance. Works collaboratively with the department manager toprovidestandardized, effective, and efficient education across the footprint. Serves as the primary contact person for professional staff orientation. Essential Functions Organize and overseeorientation fornew field-and office-basedstaff. Support the development of continuing education ofclinical and paraprofessionalstaff. Continually evaluate program effectiveness and relevancy. Participate in the development and teaching of classes/in-services hosted in person or through electronic learning management system. Organize andfacilitateclinical competency testing. Assistin coordination of HCR Preceptor program. Perform co-visits with field staff as needed. Track staff requirements for in-servicetraining. Provideorfacilitatetraining in a variety of different formats to meet the needs of field staff. Work closely withLHCSA managementand other agency personnel to coordinatehome health aideeducation across services. Assistwith the evaluation and organization of similar programs at branch offices as needed. Develop training materials for field and office staff using various training methods, techniques, and formats. Organize andmaintainup-to-date educational materials for staff use and reference. Direct remedial training asidentifiedby managerial staff. Standardization of patient educational materials. Other duties as assigned. Education Requirements Graduate of accredited nursing (RN) program. Bachelor’s degree innursing preferred. Qualifications and Requirements Current, valid RN license issued by New York State Department of Educationrequired. Minimum of one year of homecare experiencerequired. Proficient in MicrosoftOffice. Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations and Medicare/Medicaid Guidelines forhome care. Knowledgeintheories of teaching and principles of adult education (preferred). Ability and desire to serve as a role model. High levelof OASIS knowledge and competence; Certificate for OASIS Specialist- Clinical (COS-C) preferable but notrequired. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills. Demonstrate ability to travel to HCR branch locations as needed. The Clinical Educatoris primarily in an office setting and may be exposed to outdoor conditions. The working conditions are classified as light work: Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of forcefrequentlyor constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Light work involves sitting most of the time.
