Step into a rewarding role supporting students in a self-contained setting. Full-time opportunities are now open for experienced Special Education Teachers near Garland, TX, beginning as soon as possible and extending through May 2027. These contract positions span K-12th grade classrooms and require a proactive, compassionate educator ready to impact lives every day.
You’ll play a vital role in providing individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and closely monitoring student progress. Opportunities are available for those with a strong understanding of special education, and experience with autism is especially valued. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across a range of grade levels and with students who require additional support to thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Texas Special Education EC-12 certification
- Valid Texas General Education Content certification (such as Generalist EC-6)
- Professional experience working with K-12th grade students in a special education, self-contained environment
- Preferred background supporting students with autism
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, instructional strategies, and data-driven progress monitoring
- Effective communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver tailored instruction aligned to each student’s needs and goals
- Implement and track IEP objectives, accommodations, and modifications
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Maintain detailed documentation of student growth and communicate with families
