Senior Tax Manager

We have been engaged on a newly created Senior Tax Manager search for one of the nation's premier energy-focused private equity firms having raised $40B+ in capital. Currently nearly $27B in AUM and actively raising three new funds that is creating an exciting period of growth and investment activity. This newly created opportunity is a rare find offering high visibility across the organization to step into a fund-level tax leadership role at one of the most established platforms in energy private equity.

What You’ll Own

• Fund-level tax review — reviewing federal and state partnership tax returns, Schedule K-1s, and corporate blocker returns
• Investor reporting & compliance — calculate and manage FDAP, ECI, and state withholding calculations, tax depletion, K-1 production and investor tax reporting for LPs
• Tax Accounting - support ASC 740 income tax accounting for portfolio companies
• External relationship management - Work closely with top law firms, Big 4 accounting firms, and other external advisors

What You Bring

• 8+ years tax experience , with a strong partnership tax background, including experience with complex partnership structures and allocations
• Industry Expertise, working knowledge of oil & gas tax concepts, including depletion, intangible drilling costs (IDCs), recapture, and joint venture structures
• Public accounting pedigree — background in a Big 4 or national firm's Energy practice, ideally with direct Private Equity or VC fund client exposure
• Executive presence — strong business acumen, high EQ, sharp organizational and project management skills, and the confidence to communicate directly with senior stakeholders
