Propane Service Manager Newark, DE

Your role in our success will be: 

The Service Manager manages the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of propane systems in Sharp customer locations in their service area, to include: tank installation, repair and maintenance, appliance installation, compliance work around these installations, and development of estimates for customer work. The role ensures that the team complies with all relevant national and local safety codes and is responsible for customer-centric communications in keeping with Sharp’s expectations.

What you'll be working on:

• Trains field technicians to be proficient in repairing, installing, and maintaining propane systems

• Ensures service technicians have the necessary credentials for the performance of their assigned tasks.

• Coordinates service work in the field by assigning and monitoring work orders, providing technical support and ensuring all safety protocols are being followed.

• Manages parts and appliance inventories. Orders equipment and supplies on a just-in-time basis to ensure efficient use of working capital.

• Communicates with and responds to customers regarding their service concerns, scheduling of service, quality of work, and invoicing process.

• Reviews and approves payroll items for direct reports.

• Evaluates open and completed work orders to asses accuracy and efficiency.

• Inspects completed jobs to ensure code compliance and quality of work.

• Sets expectations and reviews performance of direct reports.

• Develops and manages relationships with third party contractors.

Who you are:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Five (5) years’ experience in propane or other related business (may include but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, piping, or other fuels)

• Demonstrated experience installing, repairing, and maintaining propane systems and appliances.

• CDL Class B HAZMAT (or acquire such license within 6 months of hire or transfer)

• Certified Employee Training Program (CETP), certification as follows: 1.0, 2.2, 3.1-3.5, 4.1-4.2 (within 12 months of hire or transfer)

• NFPA 58, NFPA 54, state and local building codes

• Excellent customer contact, supervisory, organizational, and communication skills.
• Technical expertise with regard to propane appliance and equipment installation

• Ability to work as part of a team with a proven track record of success.
