Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to adult oncology patients, including GI, GU, breast, head and neck, neuro, thoracic, lymphoma, and leukemia cases. Maintain patient safety and comfort through clinical assessments, treatments, and education.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and other medications as prescribed.
• Access ports, perform central line blood draws, and manage colostomy care.
• Conduct bone marrow biopsies and perform pelvic exams, Pap smears, biopsies, and colposcopies.
• Chart patient information accurately using Epic electronic medical records.
• Monitor patient status, respond to emergencies, and document all clinical interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans.

Qualifications:

• Current NJ or Compact RN license required at submission.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in adult medical oncology or hematology.
• BLS certification required.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records essential.
• Ability to access ports, perform blood draws, and administer treatments.
• Knowledge of oncology procedures, including bone marrow biopsies and pelvic exams.
