Central Supply and Smoking Aide

Central Supply & Smoking Aide Heartwood Extended Care in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a Central Supply & Smoking Aide to support both inventory management and resident services. This role is responsible for maintaining supply inventory, ordering and receiving medical supplies, managing related documentation, and assisting with the facility's smoking program to ensure resident safety and compliance with designated smoking protocols. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and enjoys working with and supporting long-term care residents. Essential Functions: Central Supply Responsibilities Account for products used in the previous 24 hours. Print and review perpetual re-order reports. Order products as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels. Receive shipments, input packing slips, and restock medical supply rooms. Conduct inventory spot checks and maintain accurate supply records. Process invoices and forward them to appropriate parties for payment. Maintain supply ordering within the monthly budget. Ensure supplies are stored in a clean, organized, and safe manner. Smoking Aide Responsibilities Assist with the facility's designated smoking program and resident smoking schedules. Escort residents to and from smoking sessions. Assist residents with smoking aprons and monitor smoking activity for safety. Secure smoking materials and safety equipment following each session. Clean and maintain the designated smoking area after use. Monitor resident capacity and notify licensed staff when adjustments to care plans may be necessary. Report any allegations or concerns regarding abuse or neglect to a supervisor immediately. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory data. Ability to identify supply needs and maintain appropriate stock levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Demonstrates professionalism and compassion when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and staff. Possess a positive attitude and genuine interest in working with seniors and long-term care residents. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn company software applications. Education, Licensure & Experience Requirements Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other software applications. Ability to follow written directions and comprehend verbal instructions. Healthcare or long-term care experience. Inventory, supply management, or customer service experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and twist for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
