Schedule: Full Time, Clinic Hours

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay Based on Experience

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will support the clinical team by providing direct patient care, managing patient flow, preparing clinic schedules, maintaining accurate medical records, and assisting with a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities. This position plays an important role in keeping the clinic organized and ensuring providers have the information and resources needed to deliver quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to testing rooms while providing a welcoming and professional patient experience
• Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic and help minimize patient wait times
• Obtain vital signs and accurately document patient information in the EMR
• Gather patient information, medical history, and visit information for the provider
• Prepare previous medical records and other relevant patient information for provider review
• Download and upload PAP compliance and treatment reports into the EMR and/or patient chart
• Communicate pertinent patient information and updates to the medical provider
• Coordinate medication orders as directed by the provider
• Work closely with the DME department to help ensure patients receive necessary supplies and equipment
• Prepare Certified Medical Necessity (CMN) forms and other documentation for provider review and signature
• Occasionally adjust PAP device pressures according to provider orders and established procedures
• Obtain, organize, and maintain previous medical records to support comprehensive patient care
• Mail recent sleep study results and other medical documentation to appropriate parties
• Prepare and review the physician's schedule for the following week
• Monitor and respond to voicemails daily to ensure timely communication with patients and staff
• Maintain accurate, organized, and timely documentation while supporting the overall efficiency of the clinic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of two years of experience in a medical or healthcare setting
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or similar) preferred, but non-certified candidates with relevant medical experience are encouraged to apply
• Strong patient service and communication skills
• Ability to accurately document information and work with electronic medical records
• Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff
• Dependable, proactive, flexible, and willing to work collaboratively as part of a clinical team
