Registered Nurse Cardiac PCU

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU). In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult cardiac patients who require close monitoring and specialized treatment but do not need intensive care. Working within our Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring, administer medications and cardiac therapies, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and an interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans. You will oversee and coordinate patient care from admission through discharge, including patient and family education on cardiac conditions, procedures, medications, lifestyle changes, and follow-up care to support long-term health and reduced readmissions. As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac PCU, you will utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, elevate concerns promptly, and participate in rapid response situations when necessary. You will follow all hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and evidence-based practice projects within the unit. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
