As an HR Generalist II or III, you will support a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, benefits, leave management, recruitment, training, wellness initiatives, and policy interpretation. You will assist with new employee orientations, performance evaluations, disciplinary processes, and contribute to impactful HR programs and visiting field sections as needed. Salary HR Generalist II: $57,614 – $68,500 per year (B22) HR Generalist III: $65,104 – $80,500 per year (B25) Location Corpus Christi – District Headquarters, 1701 S Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, 78416 Work Schedule Day shift, 40 hours per week, onsite. Travel required up to 25% of the time. Responsibilities Enter, maintain, and coordinate data such as applicant, salary, and benefits transactions using PeopleSoft. Participate in hiring program activities including managing job openings, screening applications, assisting in interviewing, and facilitating the hiring process. Participate in quality review activities for human resources programs. Interpret human resources policies, procedures, and state/federal rules with guidance from supervisor or lead worker. Respond to inquiries and complaints regarding HR policies and procedures. Review legal and administrative documents. Process requests and inquiries from employees for various HR activities and programs. Provide guidance to management on sensitive issues including substance abuse and employee discipline. Manage routine and complex medical-related employee needs, including FMLA and ADA. Keep abreast of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Perform other job responsibilities as assigned. (For HR Generalist III only) Plan and coordinate projects. (For HR Generalist III only) Develop and provide HR training. (For HR Generalist III only) Develop procedures manuals and training materials. (For HR Generalist III only) Serve as subject matter expert to other HR professionals. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of human resources-related experience (full-time or prorated part-time). Related graduate-level education may substitute experience (1 year of education = 1 year of experience). Valid driver's license; position requires driving a state vehicle. Considerable knowledge of HR administrative practices, HR management policies, federal and state laws, EEO guidelines, policy analysis, effective working relationships, prioritization, office equipment, confidential record maintenance, and computer systems.
