Licensed Practical Nurse – Emergency Department Sign On Bonus Potential: up to $5,000 Location: Randallstown, MD Department: NURSING EMERGENCY RM Schedule: Shift – Full time – Night shift – 7:00pm-7:30am Unit Summary The Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital currently sees over 60,000 patients per year and has 49 beds. The unit treats major and minor illnesses, typically related to cardiac, stroke, and behavioral health. Staff may also provide care for orthopedic injuries or minor trauma. A rapid care area is designated for minor illnesses. Staff must be outgoing, positive, and possess strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms. Job Summary Under the supervision of the Unit Manager and unit charge nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a general understanding of nursing principles and basic physical assessment skills to develop and implement individualized nursing care plans. The RN assists in the orientation and supervision of nursing personnel, attends to daily unit operations per shift, and assumes leadership responsibilities as needed. Requirements Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate’s degree (2 years of college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Less than 1 year of experience.
