Commercial Construction Pipefitter – Kodiak
Pay Range: $30-$40/hr
Kodiak is hiring experienced Commercial Pipefitters who know piping systems, can work from drawings, and take pride in installing work safely and correctly.
A Day in the Life
- Read plans, drawings, and specifications to determine piping layouts and installation sequences
- Lay out and mark pipe routes, connections, supports, and penetrations
- Cut, thread, groove, braze, solder, and assemble piping
- Install valves, fittings, and piping systems using steel, iron, brass, copper, and plastic
- Use pipe cutters, threading machines, band saws, reciprocating saws, torches, and other trade tools
- Install and connect commercial piping systems according to drawings and specifications
- Pressure test piping systems and troubleshoot leaks
- Identify field obstructions and make sound installation decisions
- Coordinate piping installations with other trades
- Direct crews to complete work safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
- Follow all Kodiak and OSHA safety requirements
What You Bring
- 4+ years of commercial pipefitting experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings
- Strong knowledge of commercial piping installation methods
- Experience working with multiple piping materials and joining methods
- Ability to lay out and install piping accurately
- Ability to lead crews and keep work moving safely and efficiently
- Strong troubleshooting and field decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Safety-first mindset and ability to work effectively with other trades
