Construction Safety Coordinator

Assist in the administration of project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting the Everus 4EVER Strategy. Employees | Value | Execution | Relationships Job Responsibilities Promote a positive safety culture in a professional manner among site supervision and workers. Assist in overall supervision and administration of safety, compliance, and training activities. Assist site supervision in identifying, documenting, and determining resolutions to hazardous and potentially hazardous and/or unsafe working conditions and behaviors. Observe and provide coaching to workers and field supervision in safe and best practices. Assist in completion of and/or review of completed JHA's, Permits, Emergency Action Plans, MOP's, SOP's, and other proactive safety related documentation. Conduct visual and documented safety inspections and audits using a cloud‑based document control program, tracking open items and following up to ensure abatement. Provide and coordinate safety training as required including but not limited to New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation Training, Toolbox Talks, and Safety Stand Up topics. Visually inspect and document safety equipment inspections. Respond to, investigate, provide detailed reports, and follow up on any safety related issues/incidents, including compiling data, photographs, statements, etc. Manage safety related documents through company and client databases. Attend Trade Partner toolbox meetings. Prepare and post safety meeting minutes, issue safety bulletins, and distribute and post incident data. Assist in emergencies as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications A working knowledge of health and safety standards at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or a related field, along with relevant work experience. Three years’ experience in a construction safety position. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or similar field of study. Previous experience with electrical construction. Possess a valid OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 designation. Possess a valid certificate as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Key Skills & Competencies Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company safety related regulations; stay up to date on regulations and best practices. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures is essential. Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications. Highly proficient in communication and public speaking and presentations; leadership and supervisory skills are essential. Must maintain confidentiality. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously, changing priorities as necessary. Must be a team player and possess the ability to share valuable information with team members to increase department expertise. Must be able to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others. This position may require some travel ( Location This position will be primarily located onsite in the Smithville, MO area, with occasional time spent working out of the main office in Kansas City, KS (Fairfax). This is not a hybrid or remote position.
