Type of staff: Day Shift: 1 Charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNS, PCTs, and unit secretary when grid allows

Night Shift: 1 Charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNS, PCTs

Patient Ratios: 5:1 (Med Surg Specialty 4th Floor). 6:1 (Med Surg 5th Floor)

Type of equipment: remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, dynamaps

EMR: Alterra (Allscripts)

Skill Set: Must have: Telemetry experience, Med Surg Experience

Preferred or nice to have: Cardiac recognition, IV starts, Time management

Typical procedures performed on unit(s): All abdominal: chole, appy, colectomy, diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart caths, run offs Gastric sleeves, total hip, knee and shoulder replacements. Ortho trauma repairs (fractures)

Best personality fit: Team oriented, positive and flexible.

Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHS

Floating Area(s): Inpatient rehab, ED, PCU

Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - Currently wear black scrubs but will be moving to Medical City Blue

Weekends and On call(if any): Weekend shifts are required. No on call.
