The Project Engineer supports the RMMR Program in planning and reviewing of project elements required in the performance of a United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Recurring Maintenance and Minor Repair (RMMR) task order. The Project Engineer reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for overall technical acceptability of all maintenance and repair performed under the contract. Other duties such as assisting in developing, reviewing, and costing, the work to successfully complete the requirements in accordance with the company's quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing scopes of work, bill of materials, means and methods, and overall suitability of proposed repairs to fuels systems and ancillary fuel system components.
• Providing early notice to the RMMR project team of approved and disapproved maintenance and repair actions and providing assistance in making corrections to ensure that maintenance and repair actions are suitable and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Providing technical oversight of service order scopes of work, ensuring health and safety plans and quality plans are developed and followed. Uses UFGS/UFC/EM-385 guidance to review/approve service order scopes for accuracy.
• Collaborating with Task Order Safety Managers and others to develop work plans for High Risk/Complex service orders.
• Monitoring the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for all service orders.
• Coordinating with maintenance manager to ensure RM events are adhered to and that all tasks are performed in accordance with contract requirements.
• Reviewing and approving expense report charges on projects and time sheets, as required.
• Assisting in preparing proposals, presentations, reports and visiting prospective clients. Developing and maintaining customer and client relationships; becoming familiar with client's business and expectations, to encourage and promote future/repeat business.
• Ensuring development of a quality project by regularly reviewing work products for presentation quality, adherence to client scope, and company quality standards.
• Updating and maintaining body of knowledge related to training and job responsibilities.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of three years engineering experience on petroleum fuel systems.
• Must possess and maintain an active and valid driver's license without restrictions.
• Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university in an engineering discipline preferably mechanical.

Skills:

• Proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including Word, Excel, Database, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Ability to use/learn Quickbase, eMaint, MaintainX, Timberland and/or other software programs that manage information and schedules.
• EIT or PE certification is preferred.

Abilities:

• Must possess ability to read and interpret government contract language specified in Performance Work Statements (PWS), on firm-fixed price contracts.
• Can work independently and is self-motivated; work well towards timelines and goals.
• Has the ability to use mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; can conduct problem-solving.
• Proven ability to communicate, both written and verbally, for internal and external clients.
• Able to react to dynamic situations and retain effectiveness.
• Resolves conflicts between team and clients.

Physical Demands:

• This position requires the individual to use the computer working at a desk in either an office or cubicle; must be able to talk and hear, reach with hands and arms, lift 25 pounds, sit, stand, and walk, must have close and color vision, use depth and peripheral vision, and be able to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• Occasional field work at construction and client sites may require employee to be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, electrical and fueling facility environments.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional attendance at meetings and other on-site events at designated locations requires the ability to provide reliable transportation and maintain a current, valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Position may require occasional travel to domestic locations.
• Employee must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Access to federal installations or other secure facilities may require security badges and employee must be able to obtain basic security clearances.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year

Versar Global Solutions provides the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Location Requirements:

The position will primarily work a hybrid schedule with occasional attendance at meetings and other on-site events at designated locations.
