Floor Tech

Performing thorough cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms, common areas, and other indoor spaces- Operating specialized floor cleaning equipment to maintain the condition of our flooring.


Position Summary


We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Floor Technician to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of commercial flooring surfaces. The Floor Tech is responsible for performing routine and specialized floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and carpet cleaning. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, follows safety procedures, and can work independently with minimal supervision.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Strip, wax, seal, and refinish hard floor surfaces.
Burnish and buff floors to maintain a professional appearance.
Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
Shampoo, extract, and spot-clean carpeted areas.
Sweep, mop, dust mop, and maintain floors as needed.
Clean and maintain tile, concrete, vinyl, terrazzo, and other flooring surfaces.
Perform routine inspections to identify floor maintenance needs.
Follow proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
Maintain equipment and report repair needs promptly.
Complete assigned work orders and document completed tasks.
Assist with general janitorial duties as needed.
Ensure all work areas remain safe and free of hazards.


Qualifications:


High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous floor care or janitorial experience preferred.
Experience operating commercial floor care equipment.
Knowledge of floor finishes, waxes, strippers, and cleaning chemicals.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record.

Physical Requirements:


Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push and pull floor care equipment.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
