Medical AssistantKansas City, Missouri On-Site Healthcare WorkforceJob DescriptionMedical AssistantPerforms both administrative and clinical tasks in the clinical setting, including taking vital signs, preparing for exams (equipment and exam rooms), cleaning of both exam rooms and equipment after completion of examination, maintaining medical records, confirming appointments, essentially acting as a bridge between the examiner and the claimant to ensure smooth office operations.Pay Rate: $21.51/ hourKey responsibilities of a medical assistant:Clinical duties:Take vital signs (blood pressure and pulse)Prepare claimant for examination (Electrocardiogram testing/Pulmonary Function Testing)Draw blood for lab testsPerform Pulmonary Function TestingPerform Electrocardiogram – uploading for official readingCalibrate equipment (Pulmonary Function machine – daily, AED – monthly)Chaperone claimant during an examinationAdministrative duties:Check-in/Check-out claimantsOrder entry for diagnostic testing (labs/sleep study/X-rays/PFTs)Review of medical recordsAnswer phone calls and greet claimantsManage clinic flowMaintain medical supplies (order as inventory is low and remove expiring/expired items)Required skills for a medical assistant:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with claimants effectivelyStrong attention to detail to ensure accurate claimant record's reviewBasic understanding of medical terminologyAbility to multitask and prioritize tasks effectivelyProficiency with computer systems for electronic medical records (EMR)Ability to follow established medical protocols and safety guidelinesUp-to-date BLS certificationAbout Loyal SourceLoyal Source provides healthcare and technology solutions designed to improve outcomes and support mission-critical operations.
