Tech - Surgical

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in assisting during surgical procedures by preparing equipment, instruments, and supplies, while maintaining a sterile environment. They work closely with surgical teams to ensure smooth operations and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments and supplies.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing tools and maintaining a sterile field.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team based on the procedure being performed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of supplies and sterile procedures in electronic medical records.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and hospital policies throughout surgeries.

Qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program recognized by CAAHEP, ABHES, or hold NBSTA certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and EMR documentation (preferred).
• Hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience in surgical technology.
