Job Title: Site Specialist
Location: Ann Arbor, MI 48109
Contract Duration: 3-month W2 contract, with a high possibility of extension based on performance and business needs
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Standard Business Hours)

Position Summary:
The Site Specialist supports integrated laboratory service, support, and supply management operations at the customer site. This position is responsible for receiving and delivering laboratory supplies and materials, supporting dock and delivery operations, maintaining laboratory equipment and service areas, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with all applicable safety procedures and customer guidelines. The role requires strong customer service, organizational, communication, and material-handling skills.

• Receive, sort, document, monitor, and deliver lab supplies, packages, samples, and mail.
• Support dock operations, vendor escorts, scheduled deliveries, and rush requests.
• Pick up, wash, sterilize, inspect, and return laboratory glassware and equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, docks, storage spaces, and service areas.
• Assist with hazardous waste container collection and related documentation.
• Manage gas cylinders, garments, and related inventory needs.
• Perform routine eyewash and safety shower inspections.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, service metrics, and reports.
• Follow all safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and University guidelines.
• Proactively communicate with the lead team to address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes.
• Participate in process improvement activities.
• Support safety programs, including hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigation as required.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions.
• Strong customer-service orientation and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various levels of personnel at the customer site.
• Ability to operate handheld scanners and enter data into various systems as needed.
• Analytical skills to reconcile reports and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to understand the complexity of various work environments and work safely while following all policies and procedures.
• Computer proficiency and intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year of related experience in a laboratory setting or customer service environment.
• Experience supporting laboratory operations, material handling, inventory, or site services.
• Experience working in a regulated laboratory or similar environment
• Ability to proactively identify customer needs and resolve issues within established timeframes
• Experience participating in safety programs, inspections, hazard identification, or incident reporting.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

• Works primarily at customer sites and may be required to work independently.
• Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use, such as penicillin or tetracycline.
• Personal protective equipment may be required depending on the work area, including lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glasses.
• Regularly required to lift 30–40 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly operates equipment such as pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, forklifts, and similar equipment to push or pull loads up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and perform manual material handling, including twisting, bending, reaching, and lifting, for prolonged periods.
• Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures, including cold rooms and outdoor areas
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
