Social Media Video Editor

Role Overview
Create polished, high-performing video content for internal marketing and social media initiatives. This remote, project-based contractor role centers on compelling storytelling and modern, social-first editing that builds brand awareness and drives viewer engagement across YouTube, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and enhance social video content, primarily horizontal 16:9 videos for YouTube, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn, with vertical 9:16 experience also valued.
- Develop attention-grabbing hooks, dynamic captions, motion graphics, and visual elements that increase watch time.
- Incorporate B-roll, sound effects, transitions, speed ramps, zooms, punch-ins, text animations, jump cuts, and graphic overlays where appropriate.
- Optimize pacing, music, and audio for polished, high-retention content aligned with current social media trends.
- Deliver high-quality final assets on project deadlines while maintaining brand consistency.
- Collaborate remotely with the marketing team to interpret creative direction, incorporate feedback, and support campaign objectives.
- Keep project files and deliverables organized throughout the editing process.
Qualifications
- A portfolio demonstrating strong editing for YouTube, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and/or short-form channels including Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts.
- Experience as a Social Media Video Editor, Short-form Video Editor, YouTube Video Editor, Reels/TikTok Editor, Content Editor, or Content Creator/Video Editor.
- Previous work with YouTubers, personal brands, coaches, SaaS startups, marketing agencies, B2B companies, or podcasts is valued.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable professional editing software.
- Motion graphics experience is a strong plus.
- Strong sound design, audio optimization, storytelling, captioning, B-roll integration, text animation, and social media video editing skills.
- Clear communication, the ability to interpret creative briefs and feedback, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Work Terms
- Remote contractor engagement on a project basis.
Compensation
$40 to $50 per hour.
