Staff Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant

Experience: 1-5 years

Location: Peterson, NJ (onsite)

Prioritized Must-Have Skills for the Staff Accountant:

#1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

#2. 1 to 5 years of accounting or finance experience

#3. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

#4. Strong Excel skills, including reporting and data management

#5. Close attention to detail with strong organization and time management skills

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

• Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform account reconciliations, ns including prepaid expenses, receivables, accruals, and intercompany accounts
• Maintain and update accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with the preparation and organization of documentation for external audits
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP standards
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data
• Support financial reporting and ad hoc reporting as needed

Requirements of the Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1 to 5 years of accounting or finance experience
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• close attention to detail with strong organization and time management skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor or similar accounting software
• Familiarity with advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables
• Exposure to financial analysis or reporting
