Workdays & Hours: Field Operations is a 24/7 Operation - weekend work may be required. This position is a first responder in severe weather conditions/emergencies which will be subject to work after hours, emergency call back hours, nights, weekends, holidays and will participate in an on-call rotation schedule. This role requires proactive and dependable individuals who can quickly adapt to changing conditions and respond efficiently to urgent situations. Ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems, maintaining the success of our operations team and the satisfaction of our customers during critical times.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED certification
- Two (2) years of water/sewer utilities experience.
- Possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain a TCEQ Class I Wastewater Collection license is required within twelve months of hire. To obtain this license, you must be able to pass a written test and criminal background check
- Must be able to pass a physical and drug screen testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of work order management software
- Possess a TCEQ Class II Wastewater Collection license or higher
- Previous experience working with a large water utility
- Possess a Class A CDL
- PACP, LACP, and MACP certified
Utility Line Technician responsibilities include:
As a Utility Line Technician, you'll be part of a team dedicated to maintaining and repairing our city's vital water and sewer systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and Repairing Water and Sewer Systems: You'll be on the front lines ensuring our water and sewer systems are running smoothly, conducting everything from routine maintenance to more complex repairs
- CCTV Video Assessments: Using state-of-the-art technology, you'll conduct detailed inspections of the wastewater collection system to identify issues and keep everything flowing properly
- Smoke Testing & Inspections: Play a key role in identifying system issues through smoke testing and manhole inspectionscritical tasks that help prevent future problems and keep our systems working efficiently
- Flow Monitoring & Equipment Maintenance: Install, monitor, and maintain flow monitoring equipment, providing essential data to help us improve our systems and track performance
- Customer Support & Troubleshooting: You'll be the go-to person for solving problems and answering questions from residents, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Hands-on, Physical Work: This job involves manual laborwhether it's installing new systems, repairing pipes, or maintaining infrastructure, you'll be doing meaningful work that directly impacts the community
- Reporting & Documentation: Stay on top of important paperwork by completing city-specific forms, surveys, and reports, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of operation

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.
Heavy Work Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
