Superintendent – Commercial Construction (Plumbing Riser Experience Required)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent with 10+ years of experience and a strong background managing plumbing or riser installations on mid-rise or high-rise projects. This individual will oversee all field operations from project start through completion, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience coordinating complex MEP systems, leading subcontractors, and driving schedules on projects where plumbing risers and vertical utility coordination are critical to project success.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project closeout.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing work to maximize productivity.

• Manage and coordinate subcontractors with a strong emphasis on plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection trades.

• Oversee installation of plumbing risers, vertical rough-ins, sleeves, and floor-to-floor MEP coordination.

• Coordinate inspections, pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, and required code compliance activities.

• Conduct daily site meetings, safety meetings, and subcontractor coordination meetings.

• Maintain project quality standards while proactively resolving field issues.

• Work closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Inspectors.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

• Track progress, document field activities, and communicate schedule impacts and solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a on commercial or multifamily construction projects.

• Proven experience managing plumbing riser installations on mid-rise or high-rise buildings.

• Experience with commercial, healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, laboratory, or mixed-use construction preferred.

• Strong understanding of MEP coordination, sequencing, and building systems.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.

• Experience managing subcontractors and maintaining aggressive project schedules.

• Knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software is preferred.

• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
