Growing together.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, organizing, and producing analyses and reporting that will support the Individual and Family Plan (IFP) initiative. They will also discuss details and insight that follow from this material with internal stakeholders for further action as necessary. Through strategic partnership, this role will leverage internal and external assets to build and maintain actionable financial models to inform business decisions related to the long-term sustainability of IFP business.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Financial Modeling and Strategic Analysis:Assist in maintaining and enhancing financial models supporting actuarial, financial, utilization, network design and pricing initiativesDirect and prioritize recurring and ad hoc analytical work to meet business commitmentsGuide cross-functional teams in resolving complex and non-standard analytical and operational issuesCritically evaluate information obtained from multiple sources and reconcile discrepanciesEnsure solid data and process transparency to support methodology integrity and delegation of tasks and responsibilities for department learning opportunities and growthBusiness Partnership:Demonstrate a supportive, customer service mindsetPresent recommendations, risks and financial implications to business leaders and cross-functional stakeholdersProactively anticipate and prioritize business needs and develop solutions to meet themEffectively inform and persuade IFP network decisions with summarized analytics while providing supporting data to a variety of audiencesEnsure consistent network pricing methodologies and analytical standards across assigned marketsInnovation and Process Improvement:Seek opportunities to improve processes and identify areas of improvement specifically related to data reliability, efficiency and quality (implement and scale best practices)Assist in building, supporting, enhancing and maintaining reports, models and dashboardsSuccessfully deploy new processes, tools and models to advance modeling capabilities in a changing environmentEstablish and monitor team quality-control standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of forecasts, pricing models and reportingCreate and maintain applicable project documentation for assigned initiativesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: 6+ years of analytical experience in financial analysis, health care pricing, network management, health care economics or related discipline6+ years of experience with provider payment methodologies and healthcare products6+ years of experience in creating and using financial modeling tools, spreadsheets and information acquisition tools Demonstrated progression of technical expertise related to acquisition of new tools and methodologiesAdvanced level of proficiency in performing financial impact analysis, risk management and data manipulationAdvanced level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPointProven excellent oral and written presentation skills, time/project management, problem solving and organization skillsWilling and able to work Central Standard Time Zone and Eastern Standard Time Zone hoursPreferred Qualifications: Knowledge and Intermediate level of proficiency in PowerBI, SQL, SnowflakeExperience applying AI-enabled tools to improve analytical efficiency, automate work flows and support data-driven decision making.*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
