Travel Registered Nurse - PCU
Location: Wichita, KS
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM
Job Description: The Travel Registered Nurse - PCU (Progressive Care Unit) will provide high-quality care to patients with complex medical needs. The role requires a focus on patient-centered care and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a progressive care unit setting.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members for patient care planning.
- Assist with the management of chest tubes, drains, and medication drips.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Meditech.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum 1-year current hospital PCU experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
- Knowledge of central lines and catch recovery is a plus.
