ReGenesis Health Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our growing Behavioral Health team in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who is passionate about improving access to high-quality behavioral and mental health services for children, adolescents, and families, particularly those in underserved communities.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care while working collaboratively within an integrated, multidisciplinary health care team.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist , you will:

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management for children and adolescents experiencing behavioral, emotional, developmental, and psychiatric conditions.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that consider each patient's medical, psychological, developmental, family, educational, and social needs.
• Evaluate and treat child and adolescent behavioral health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, and other psychiatric conditions within the scope of practice.
• Provide ongoing medication management and monitor treatment effectiveness, medication adherence, potential side effects, safety concerns, and overall clinical progress.
• Conduct appropriate risk assessments for suicidal ideation, self-harm, aggression, abuse, neglect, and other behavioral health emergencies and coordinate higher levels of care when clinically indicated.
• Partner with parents, guardians, and caregivers to provide education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment recommendations, and strategies for supporting the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents.
• Work collaboratively with pediatricians, primary care physicians, behavioral health counselors, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, nurses, care coordinators, and other health care professionals.
• Coordinate care with schools, specialists, hospitals, community behavioral health organizations, and other community resources when clinically appropriate and with proper authorization.
• Refer patients to appropriate specialists or higher levels of psychiatric care when necessary while supporting continuity and coordination of care.
• Complete timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record for each patient encounter in accordance with organizational policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review patient medical records and clinical information to support safe, appropriate, and coordinated psychiatric care.
• Supervise and collaborate with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in accordance with South Carolina law, applicable professional standards, and ReGenesis Health Care collaborative agreements and policies.
• Provide psychiatric consultation and clinical guidance to members of ReGenesis Health Care's integrated Behavioral Health and Primary Care teams.
• Participate in clinical meetings, case conferences, peer review, quality improvement activities, and organizational initiatives related to child and adolescent behavioral health.
• Participate in the ongoing development and expansion of ReGenesis Health Care's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services .
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, ReGenesis Health Care policies, and applicable federal and state requirements.
• Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Training

• Graduate of an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
• Successful completion of an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship program .

Certification and Licensure

• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of South Carolina or eligibility to obtain South Carolina medical licensure prior to employment.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry through the appropriate American specialty board.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Board-eligible physicians must be actively pursuing board certification within the timeframe established by ReGenesis Health Care.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.
• Must successfully meet all applicable ReGenesis Health Care credentialing and privileging requirements.

Experience

• Clinical experience evaluating and treating children and adolescents with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
• Experience providing psychiatric medication management to pediatric and adolescent populations.
• Experience working collaboratively with parents, guardians, families, behavioral health therapists, primary care providers, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Experience serving culturally diverse, underserved, or medically complex patient populations preferred.
• Experience within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, integrated behavioral health environment, or Patient-Centered Medical Home model preferred.
• Demonstrated recent clinical practice or an appropriate volume of patient care within the previous 12 months preferred.
