Registered Nurse - Charge Nurse (LPN/RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse to join our senior care team. This full-time day shift position offers a competitive pay range with night and weekend shift differentials. The Charge Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, coordinating nursing services, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support the organization's mission, vision, and values.
• Maintain a safe environment through adherence to infection control practices and resident rights.
• Assess residents upon admission and develop or update care plans as needed.
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to appropriate staff.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain medication records and controlled substance inventories.
• Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff members.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers.
• Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Notify physicians and family members of significant changes in resident conditions.
• Perform nursing procedures within the scope of practice, including wound care, catheterization, tube feedings, and related treatments.
• Obtain specimens and complete documentation accurately and timely.
• Monitor residents requiring intensive observation or intervention.
• Supervise nursing assistants and medication aides, providing coaching and guidance.
• Carry out physician orders in accordance with established procedures.
• Support additional departmental and resident care needs as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current, active, and unencumbered RN or LPN license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, geriatric care principles, applicable regulations, and healthcare standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
• Patient-focused approach to resident care.
• Ability to adapt to changing healthcare practices and evolving resident needs.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to push/pull up to 60 pounds, lift up to 50 pounds, and carry up to 15 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in case management, medical care, charge nurse roles, and senior living facilities.
• RN license is preferred.

This position is based in a senior living facility where the Charge Nurse will work primarily on the day shift. This is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63648.00 - $98945.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
