Job OverviewThe Investment Technology department is an internal software engineering organization whose mission is to provide and expand the technical capabilities that drive our systematic investment process. As an active manager, Arrowstreet seeks to design investment portfolios that will, in expectation, outperform their respective benchmarks on a risk-adjusted basis. To do so, the firm relies on a large set of proprietary systems and applications that provide our investment teams with powerful capabilities to conduct research for alpha generation, to implement investment strategies efficiently, to accurately manage our client accounts, and to provide in-depth analysis and reporting of our investment performance to our investors.Technology is integral to our long-term success, and outstanding engineering talent is essential to the firm’s ability to meet its investment performance and fiduciary goals. A successful candidate must be passionate about technology and understand software design patterns. They should be self-motivated, process-driven and a problem solver.This role will be responsible for designing software solutions which take complex investment ideas and bring them to life. Collaboration with other software development leads and teams is a critical part of the success in this particular role.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, and build new features into a growing platformPropose architectural changes that benefit the platform, eliminate failures, and prevent race conditionsContinuously learn new technologies to see how they can add value to the companySupport a large development communityQualificationsMinimum 5+ years of professional software development experience using Python or another object-oriented languageAbility to write elegant code, and comfortable with picking up new technologiesAt least 3 years of experience building resilient CI/CD pipelines, strong knowledge of Git, and familiarity with a DevOps platformAt least 2 years of experience with Cloud, preferably AWSExperience with Docker and KubernetesExperience working with message / event-based architecturesGreat communication, both written and verbalDemonstrated experience interacting and solving problems with usersMaturity, accountability, and ownership of projects/tasks, able to work in a fast paced environment.Experience working within a distributed computing environment.Good collaboration with other teams within IT and a mindset for solutions that leverages a common foundation and development principlesAdditional PreferencesExperience with automated testing frameworksPlatform Engineering or Composable Application experience would be a plusCloud Certification at developer or solution architect level would be a plus.The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $325,000 per year.Arrowstreet Capital operates a robust talent acquisition program, and we also seek to compensate and reward our employees competitively within our industry and in line with our merit-based culture.
