RN - Oncology

This is a travel position with AYA-Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with three 12-hour shifts per week for a total of 36 scheduled hours. The assignment starts on August 31, 2026, and ends on November 30, 2026, for a duration of 13 weeks.

• Patient population includes hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), gynecologic, and surgical oncology

Unit Details:

• 7-bed positive pressure wing for BMT and acute leukemia patients
• Bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps (Epic-integrated), barcode medication administration, SCD machines, and Alaris feeding pumps

Travel Compliance:

• Facility does not accept local travelers. Must be over 65 miles from the site address
• Must have 2 years experience in specialty for all locations. (New Orleans operating room requires 3 years)
• NO CALL IN!
• RTO must be on profile and brought up in the interview or there is a high chance offer's will be rescinded
• Compact or LA license in hand upon submittal
• Allied Candidates booked with pending license - Candidate must apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• References: Not required for submission, however 2 Manager/Supervisor references will be required to obtain clearance to start contract
• Recruiter, please obtain Manager/Supervisor contact information prior to submission
• Charge RNs are NOT acceptable
• PDF format AHA certifications are required
• AWHONN Intermediate is required for L&D RNCPI required for all CNAER nurses must have CPI, or be able to get it before start
• NURSYS Reports for RNs must be sent with profile. Please ensure that the NURSYS is up to date (within 4 weeks of submission date)
• Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from Ochsner Health System for 1 full year before they can return as travel
• Modules are billable
• Modules are completed during orientation and factored in orientation hours
• Modules are recorded via facility
